Saline Process as a valuable tool
While you are at work with a patient, where you would like to go beyond just a superficial conversation?
Perhaps you have a patient with many questions and you would like to show some of your faith?
Or maybe you would like to work more as a Christian, but you do not know how?
Called to be Witnesses
Christian healthcare workers are already caring for the physical needs of their patients. But people have a deep need for wholeness, including spiritual needs. This is the time when people become a patient, well-trained prayerful healthcare workers can be: Salt, Light and a witness, to share the Love of God and bring hope to them.
In daily life…
The healthcare profession provide the privilege of sharing the love of God with a humble heart and respect for the patient. This is why the training is called the Saline Process and is developed by IHS Global and partners. The course provides tools to be salt, light and a witness in the workplace. As workers are equipped to be sensitive witnesses for Christ, patients have an opportunity to “see” Jesus while they are receiving competent and compassionate health care.
The Saline Process
The Saline Process equips healthcare workers to impact their workplace for Christ by being SALT and LIGHT. This is a process that disciples, trains, and coaches healthcare workers to skilfully and confidently assess where a patient is in their journey towards faith in Christ. Using the ethical principles of permission, sensitivity and respect, participants are introduced to practical tools that help them to personalize an approach to share the love of Jesus according to each patient’s needs.
Experiential learning methods, such as role play and personal application, are used to explore five main questions:
- Why is faith important in healthcare?
- What are the opportunities and barriers to fulfilling God’s call?
- What is my part?
- What other tools will help me cultivate and sow?
- Where do I go from here?
