PRAYER MINISTRY
The goal of the HCFI prayer ministry is to develop within the next 10 years, an effective network of one million intercessors to prayerfully support the HCFI vision of a global transformation of healthcare through the service of multiplying disciples practicing Biblical healthcare which honors the Lord Jesus Christ.
PRAYER INITIATIVES WHICH CAN TOUCH EVERY STRATA OF SOCIETY ACROSS THE GLOBE…
Through ‘Silver-Line’: The ‘silver-haired’ can be motivated to pray for health institutions which they regularly visit and health professionals who take care of their physical well-being. This exciting new avenue in the HCF Global Prayer Network holds great potential in encouraging the elderly to become prayer walkers and earnest intercessors – a positive factor in their otherwise feeling of redundancy.
Through Annual Healthcare Sunday: The Sunday closest to ‘St. Luke’s Day’ has become famous as “Healthcare Sunday” when churches of various denominations collaborate with National HCF’s and their Networking Partners in specific prayer for caregivers of all categories. Not only are prayer ties strengthened in the process, but health professionals are recognized and appreciated for their essential services in society which can be a positive encouragement to them.
Prayer answered!: As this vision continued to spread from continent to continent with ever increasing velocity, the burning question in the hearts of the intercessory leadership in HCFI increased: “How could they possibly reach all the Prayer Networks of the world to ask for a platform for prayer for healthcare workers? Suddenly early in the year 2020 the pandemic of Covid 19 swept across nations as a powerful cyclone, causing the death of thousands, threatening governments and citizens, enforcing Lockdowns, disrupting economies and wreaking havoc in its wake. Hearts were being shaken and many unbelievers suddenly realized that their only hope was the intervention of God. Suddenly the focus was changed from the secular stage of sport and entertainment to the sombre scene of hospitals, healthcare institutions, and suffering humanity..
Through ‘The 4-14 Window’: A window of opportunity opens – that of motivating children between the ages of 4 to 14 to participate in prayer for the health field as their particular target. Inspired to pray for sick children and for caregivers of all categories, a spirit of ownership in prayer can be cultivated in the younger generation, yielding some rewarding results in later life.
Through Annual Prayer Week: The observance of a week of Prayer or Days of Prayer in January of each year is heartily recommended when HCF chapters or individual intercessors acknowledge their determined dependence on God for every step ahead. Through Global Prayer Summits: Much blest Global gatherings have been held in different countries. 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 October, in South Africa.
Almost as a flash from Heaven, Frontline Workers and patients moved to a centre-stage position as thousands began praying for healthcare staff and their patients; intercessory groups have been motivated to meet On-Line; training programs began utilizing the social media assisted to continue their work as far as possible and although the Lockdown prevented travel, the media assisted in rapidly spreading the vision from shore to shore. God moves in mysterious ways and we are awed in silence … May He continue to call men and women through the gateway of suffering to Himself, our Rock and our Redeemer!

Pray with us at 09.38 every morning (9.38pm if it suits your work better). Set an alarm for 09.38 and pray (at the very least) Matthew 9:38 over the healthcare field in your locality/region/nation. “Lord, we beseech You, send out workers into Your ripe harvest field of healthcare”. Such a simple request can have profound results!
